18 months old!
Ellie is officially old enough to go to nursery on Sundays! Yay! I am working hard on the summer play, Willy Wonka Jr. School is out this Friday, but with summer school in the mornings and the play in the afternoons, I won't get a real break until July. Then I get to enjoy being with Ellie all day for almost two months! Can't wait!

Ellie Sue, Cowgirl
Ellie has decided that she likes hats! She has spent the last two play rehearsals wandering around the theatre wearing this mini black cowboy hat. Cute, huh?

Except for the puking...
Well, if we could just figure out why Ellie keeps throwing up, we'd be doing great. For the last few days, she's acted completely healthy and normal, and then she surprises us by puking when we least expect it. Grr.
Here's Ellie enjoying her toys.
Here's some pictures of Ellie playing outside.
Happy Spring Break!

Finally toddling all over at 16 months!
As Ellie's latest prescription of antibiotics kicked in, Ellie has felt good enough to work on her walking skills again. She still falls down fairly often, but for the last week and a half, she's finally started toddling all over!
When walking was just a novelty--and she only walked when Dave and I were on the floor holding our arms out in encouragement--she thought it was hilarious when she lost her balance and fell down. Nowadays she gets really mad when she loses her balance and falls. She hits the floor and bites the carpet. We've never seen her get so frustrated with herself before! But she's working really hard at trying to step over small obstacles without losing her balance. So hopefully she'll be running around the house like a pro soon. (Wait--did I really just wish for that?)
I can't get used to seeing her walking! My little baby isn't a little baby anymore! She is a cute, cuddly, courageous, curious, cantankerous little toddler, and I love her more every day!

March Madness
More like March sickness.
Ellie got tubes in put in her ears on March 2nd to hopefully reduce the number of ear infections she has. A week after her surgery she caught a virus--nasty cold/flu with vomiting and the works. She followed that up with a really horrible ear infection. The antibiotics are helping and she's feeling much better the last couple of days. Poor Ellie. She just can't seem to catch a break.
We are pretty sure these ear infections have affected her development. She is very small for her age. She doesn't walk well yet--just a few steps at a time, and usually when we are encouraging her. She doesn't say many words consistently. But she can sign a lot of words now. She knows sign language for: eat, all done, juice, milk, water, more, bath, cat, dog, horse, cow, fish, rabbit, duck, bird, etc. She waves hi, and bye, and blows kisses.
Ellie loves her new ride-on bumper car, and is addicted to some toddler friendly apps on my new iphone.
